AICTE Swanath Scholarship 2024: Application Details and Eligibility

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced the AICTE Swanath Scholarship 2024 for students pursuing technical diploma or degree courses. This scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to students affected by COVID-19 or whose parents were martyred in action while serving in the Armed Forces or Central Paramilitary Forces. Eligible students can apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at scholarships.gov.in.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the AICTE Swanath Scholarship 2024, applicants must meet the following criteria:

1. Nationality: Must be an Indian national.
2. Impact: Must be a ward affected by COVID-19 (either or both parents deceased due to COVID-19) or a ward of Armed Forces and Central Paramilitary Forces personnel martyred in action.
3. Enrollment: Must be enrolled in a regular mode course at degree/diploma level in any year (1st to 4th year) at an AICTE-approved institution.
4. Scholarship Status: Should not be a recipient of any other central/state government or AICTE-sponsored scholarship.
5. Family Income: Annual family income should be less than ₹8,00,000.

Benefits

Selected candidates will receive ₹50,000 per annum for every year of study. This lump sum amount can be used for college fees, purchasing computers, stationery, books, equipment, software, etc. No additional grants are provided for hostel or medical expenses.

Documents Required

• Bonafide certificate issued by the institution
• Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets (or equivalent)
• Caste/category certificate (if applicable)
• Income certificate for the current year issued by a competent authority (for wards of armed forces and paramilitary forces martyred in action)
• Death certificate of parents, explicitly stating death due to COVID-19 (for those whose parents died due to COVID-19)
• Death certificates of both parents (if available) for orphan candidates

Application Process

Eligible students can apply for the scholarship by following these steps:

1. Apply Online: Visit scholarships.gov.in and click on the ‘Apply Now’ link.
2. Register: Click on ‘Register’ and fill in the required registration details. If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID.
3. New Registration: Navigate to ‘Applicant Corner’ and select ‘New Registration’.
4. Fill Details: Enter the required details, including mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit.
5. Complete Registration: Fill in the necessary details and click on ‘Save & Register’ to complete the registration process.
6. Fresh Application: Click on ‘Fresh Application’ and log in with the application ID and password.
7. Submit Application: Complete the form, upload required documents, and submit.

Note: Only one application per student is allowed. Multiple applications will result in cancellation.

Selection Process

The selection is based on the merit of the qualifying examination:

• For degree courses: Class 12 marks
• For diploma courses: Class 10 marks
