Ganderbal, Feb 7: The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) has denied reports of extending winter vacations, clarifying that online classes will be conducted from February 10 to 14 to maintain academic continuity, while in-person classes will resume on February 17.
In an official statement issued by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of CUK, the university addressed misinformation regarding an alleged vacation extension.
“Apropos to the news item ‘CUK Extends Winter Vacation Till February 14,’ published by various media organizations on February 7, 2025, the Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) clarifies that winter vacations have not been extended. Instead, academic activities will resume through online mode from February 10-14, followed by physical classes from February 17,” the statement read.
The university further stated that faculty members have been instructed to conduct online classes during this period to prevent disruptions in academic schedules. The clarification emphasized that nowhere does the official order mention an extension of winter vacations.
