This year, board exams for Classes 10 to 12 are being held in February, following the government’s decision to restore the previous November session in schools. Meanwhile, the annual exams for junior classes (up to Class 9) were conducted in November-December 2024.
As per the official date sheet:
- Class 12 exams in soft zone areas began on February 15.
- Class 11 exams are scheduled to start on February 18.
Smooth Conduct of Exams Ensured
The Education Department has made all necessary arrangements to ensure the fair and smooth conduct of the exams.
As students arrived at their exam centers, there was a mix of excitement and nervousness. Many mothers were seen accompanying their children, offering last-minute words of encouragement and support.
Rubeena Akhtar, a mother from Baramulla, shared her experience:
“We planned our winter around my child’s exam schedule. Unlike previous years, we didn’t travel for vacations so he could prepare without distractions.”
Other parents echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing their role in helping their children prepare. Anjum, another parent, said:
“It wasn’t just my son studying; we were equally involved in his preparation. These exams are important for both students and parents.”
Exam Timings & Coaching Centers’ Marketing Efforts
JKBOSE has scheduled the Class 10 exams to start at 1:30 PM daily.
Meanwhile, private coaching centers saw this as a prime opportunity for marketing. Many distributed pamphlets to students and even approached parents outside the exam centers. Some marketing executives were seen wishing students good luck while subtly promoting their coaching institutes.
As the exams progress, students, parents, and educators are hopeful for a smooth and successful examination period.
