Late night declaration of class 8th results a flop show

DIET websites not working, parents left high and dry

The late-night announcement of the Class 8th results by the J&K SCERT turned into a disappointment as the websites of the respective DIETs were found to be inaccessible, leaving parents and students frustrated.

According to official communication, the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) decided to announce the results of the middle standard examination for the 2023-24 session in both hard and soft zones. However, the SCERT instructed the respective Principals of District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) to declare the results simultaneously.

Despite around 165,000 students appearing for the Class 8th examination, only 158,000 were declared as qualified. However, when news of the results spread, parents attempted to access the DIET websites, only to find them all malfunctioning due to server issues.

Officials cited problems with the server and technical glitches caused by direct uploading of results by the clusters. They assured that efforts were underway to restore the functionality of the DIET websites one by one.

Parents expressed frustration as none of the DIET websites in Kashmir were functional, causing inconvenience late into the night. They criticized the SCERT and DIETs for the late-night announcement without ensuring the proper functioning of the system, leading to unnecessary chaos and inconvenience.

Efforts to reach Joint Director SCERT Hemraj Pakhroo for comment were unsuccessful.
