NEET UG 2025 Paper Leak Claims: As the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) continues its investigation into the 2024 NEET UG paper leak scandal, the Indian government has cracked down on over 250 MBBS students and aspirants accused of engaging in unethical practices, including solving leaked papers and impersonating other test-takers.
The National Medical Commission (NMC), the country’s leading authority on medical education, has revoked the admissions of 14 students who secured spots in the 2024-25 academic session. Additionally, the NMC has frozen the candidature of 215 students who participated in the exam, pending further review, according to insider sources from the Union Health Ministry. Another 26 enrolled MBBS students, found guilty of aiding others through fraudulent means, face immediate suspension, with directives issued to their respective medical colleges for swift action.
Sources reveal that 42 candidates have been banned from appearing for the NEET UG exam for three consecutive years (2024–2026), while nine others are barred for two years (2024–2025), signaling a strong stance against malpractice.
The NEET UG 2024 controversy erupted after the results sparked widespread scrutiny. A record-breaking 67 students achieved a perfect score of 720, raising red flags. Further concerns arose when some candidates scored 719—a mathematically impossible feat given the exam’s scoring system, which awards 4 marks per correct answer and deducts 1 mark for each wrong one. Investigations uncovered that 1,563 students had received grace marks to compensate for alleged time losses during the exam. Additional grace marks were awarded due to a question tied to outdated CBSE textbook answers. These grace marks were later scrapped, and affected students were offered a chance to retake the exam.
