Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) Tasaduq Hussain on Wednesday said that there was no immediate plan of announcing summer vacations in schools across Kashmir valley as the “weather is pleasant”.
He also said that there was no proposal for any change in the school timings in Kashmir. “The weather is pleasant, it is 32 degrees Celsius,” Hussain told media-persons during an interaction.
He said the government is monitoring the situation and that they will take call in case of any extreme weather condition.
He said that the department want to make students resilient to weather vagaries and other tough conditions so that they become stronger to face any difficult situation in future.
He said that if summer vacations are announced in the month of May, then “what we are going to do in June, July months”?
The remarks of DSEK comes as a heat wave sweeps across north India with Kashmir valley also experiencing above normal temperatures. (Greater Kashmir)
