368 Promoted Teachers Adjusted as Masters in J&K: The Directorate of School Education, Kashmir, has issued an order regarding the adjustment of 368 trained graduate and post-graduate teachers who were recently promoted as Masters. This move follows the decision of the Divisional Departmental Promotion Committee in its meeting on November 23, 2024.
Promotion and Adjustment Details
Earlier, 372 teachers were promoted to the position of Masters under Order No. 305-DSEK of 2024, dated December 6, 2024. However, four of these individuals have either retired or passed away, reducing the number of eligible promotees to 368. These teachers are now being assigned to vacant Master posts in different locations, as detailed in the annexures attached to the order.
Verification and Compliance Requirements
To ensure a smooth adjustment process, the concerned Chief Education Officers (CEOs) must verify the authenticity of each teacher’s credentials, including:
- Service Records & Promotion Orders: CEOs must check the original service records, appointment orders, and regularization details of each teacher.
- Educational Qualifications: Teachers must have obtained their degrees with prior approval from the competent authority.
- Legal & Disciplinary Clearances: Promotions are subject to pending court cases, vigilance clearance, and satisfactory Annual Performance Reports (APRs) for the last three years.
- Conduct & Integrity: Teachers must possess a good work record, with positive feedback from their Drawing and Disbursing Officers.
- Performance-Based Criteria: The promotion considers the past academic results of the subjects taught by each teacher.
Mandatory Conditions for Joining
The newly promoted Masters must report to their assigned positions within seven days of the order’s issuance. Failure to do so will be considered as a refusal of promotion. Additionally, any unresolved seniority claims must be submitted within 15 days.
This promotion and adjustment process aims to strengthen the educational system in Jammu & Kashmir by placing qualified teachers in vacant Master positions, ensuring better academic supervision and instruction in schools across the region.
