DSEK withdraws recognition of private school in Budgam

Cancellation of Recognition for a Private School in Budgam:

The School Education Department has cancelled the recognition of a private school in Budgam due to their failure to cooperate and implement orders from competent authorities.

According to Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) issued an order stating that the Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Budgam informed that an enquiry committee, formed by him, approached the School Management to determine the factual position.

However, the school management kept the enquiry officers and CEO Budgam waiting from 10 am to 5:30 pm on February 24, 2024. The documents provided by the school management were not satisfactory, lacking proper seal and signature, hindering the committee’s ability to ascertain the facts.

The Principal of BHSS Budgam, serving as the departmental representative, reported that the concerned school management did not show any willingness to consider or implement suggestions. Additionally, the school failed to involve the departmental representative in official school matters, which is required by norms.

Both officers recommended strict action against the Foundation World School, Mamat, Budgam. The management of the school has repeatedly disregarded instructions from competent authorities, demonstrating an insubordinate attitude.

The School Education Department finds the school’s behavior objectionable and takes it seriously. Therefore, considering the persistent delinquency, the recognition granted to the school is withdrawn with immediate effect, according to the order issued by DSEK.
